Our latest project with long-time client Sun & Skin Research, involved the stategic commercialization of a new gradation technology in North America. The primary motivation for this project was speed to market.
Berlin and Sun & Skin Research wanted to be the first to commercialize the new innovation in color control. It involves employment of a specially designed extrusion blow molding flow head and operating system that can controllably deliver a consistent spread of varying base color across the length of the container. Successfully, this was the first implementation of a gradation extruder system in North America.
The cost savings alone over color spray or coating techniques makes this the most economically viable option. Add to that the significant reduction in defective parts and spoilage generated by other techniques and you get a cost effective winner.
