When Johnson & Johnson made the decision to move their flagship ACT Restoring mouthwash from PVC into greener and more cost effective PET, they knew they couldn’t just call a ‘regular’ design firm… so they called Berlin Packaging’s Studio One Eleven.
The challenge: To retain dosing and child-resistance functionalities while reducing part count from 6 to 2. To add to the complexity, project economics dictated minimal changes to filling and capping equipment.
Per our integrated design-supply model we assembled a team of designers and engineers to tackle the problem head-on, resulting in cost-effective package that minimally impacted the client’s lines while providing both dosing and CR functionality via mated jigger cap and custom preform. Though the brand has changed hands since, the Studio continues to work with new owner Chattem to deliver category innovation.
