After performing a user interaction study the Studio determined that there was unmet opportunity in a simple conversion: We proposed to improve the entire cocktail preparation experience.
We simultaneously developed 2 custom components created from different materials and processes and sourced from different halves of the world: 1) A PET “martini shaker” package that mated to a stock flapper closure and a custom injection molded overcap that would hold a sugar mix (while integrating perfectly with the parts below it). Computer-generated visuals allowed the client to preview the decorated product and understand its value-added functionality prior to manufacture, insuring downstream buy-in.
Upon first trial assembly, the stock closure, the domestically-blown custom bottle and the offshore molded overcap fit perfectly, allowing client to hit its tight launch window.
